OOA House of Delegates to Meet April 21-22 in Columbus

(March 31, 2017) OOA District academy delegates attending this year's annual business meeting will consider 21 resolutions, receive reports and elect officers and national delegates for the coming year.  

The OOA House of Delegates, which meets April 21-22 at the Columbus Hilton at Easton Town Center will debate issues on a wide range of topics, including medical student and resident burnout, conversion therapy, Direct Primary Care, cultural competency, eating disorders, and step therapy, to name a few.

The House will also be asked to adopt the association's new Strategic Vision for Osteopathic Medicine in Ohio, and approve, amend or delete more than 25 policies up for the five-year review rule.

"I am delighted that our students and district academies are continuing to encourage health care debate by on submitting resolutions to the OOA House," said Speaker John F. Uslick, DO.  "Advocacy is one of the OOA's most important responsibilities, and identifying issues and taking informed positions helps to shape our response on proposed legislation and rules that impact the patients and health care in general.
